Jubilee Meadow

Thornham Jubilee Meadow, is a non-profit organization dedicated to transforming a 17-acre canvas into a tapestry of annual and perennial wildflowers  among native trees. Our team of six local trustees, all volunteers, work tirelessly to bring this vision to life. We believe that nature has the power to heal and inspire, and we want to share this with the community.

Our Mission

Thornham United Charities dates back to the 18th Century,  and is managed by six dedicated volunteer Trustees. Our goal is to transform a 17-acre field into a lush wildflower meadow with native trees, benefiting the community of Thornham. With the full support of our villagers, we hope to create a peaceful haven for all to enjoy.

Our successful track record includes a Village Hall Project, and future plans involve enhancing biodiversity and providing recreational amenities, such as picnic benches. Funding will be used to plant a varied range of native trees, under the supervision of an experienced environmentalist, to foster biodiversity and mitigate climate change. Our project's outstanding feature is its community-driven nature, environmental impact, and educational opportunities.

THORNHAM JUBILEE MEADOW: EXPERIENCE THE BEAUTY OF NATURE

What We Do

We aim to provide an area of environmentally-friedly open space which the residents and vistors to Thornham can enjoy forever, and which will be financially self-sustainable in the long term.

As the meadow becomes more established, we hope to be able to provide a variety of educational opportunites to increase the knowledge of the birds, plants and animals making their homes on the meadow,

Come and walk round our meadow and see how many species of flowers, birds and butterflies you can find. So far, we have identified more than 65 species of birds and have planted 60 species of wildflower, so there will be plenty to look for!
