August 2026 Summer Drought

The purple flowers amongst the daisies are corncockle. Ed Cross provided the seeds from Abbey Farm at Flitcham. We had quite a display this summer.
June 2026 Late Spring

Early summer is when the Meadow is looking at its best. This year the annuals put on a fine display of poppies, cornflowers, daisies and corncockle.
April 2026 Early Spring

Little did we reaise just how quickly the cowslips would increase. We did have a few last year, but we are amazed to see so many, so soon. There must be over 1,000 out there, now, in mid-April.
February 2026 Winter

We have been pleased to see a good number of people, both locals and visitors, enjoying the meadow while we have been working. The team, like many of our regular volunteers and walkers, are now waiting for the Spring to see

It has all been a bit frantic over the past couple of months as we tidied up after the dry summer and prepared everything for next year.
September 2025 End of Summer Update

It has been another busy summer on Jubilee Meadow and, as we move into autumn, we look back on a successful second season. The annual strip provided a blaze of colour in early summer and the main area, planted with perennials, suprised both us, and our expert Ed Cross, with how far ahead it was. After only two years, it really did look like a real meadow!
July 2025 Midsummer Update

Oscar Jamieson’s team from Drove Orchards planted some 250 apple trees earlier in the year. We look forward to seeing these native species of apple as they complement the trees on the meadow.
