See the early work at Thornham Jubilee Meadow, including boundary planting, fencing, hedge laying and the first stages of meadow creation.

Before and after. A team of volunteers planted a series of whips to mark the boundary. These photos were taken four years apart and show what can be achieved.

In February 2023, Rory Hart planted more than 400 assorted hedging plants along the boundary with the A149 main road.

This was followed by the installation of a kilometre of a post & wire fencing to ensure the safety and security of the meadow. Ian Gibb did an impressive job on this for us.

Fencing on the Northern Boundary

Rory also carried out the traditional practice of layering the hedge between the meadow and the TVH playing field. This has resulted in a thicker and more wildlife friendly environment.
It has also preserved the uninterrupted view from the Village Hall – thanks to Antony Needham for pushing this.

Jules Baird, of Barcham Trees, and Janek of JG Gardeners, planted the first batch of 28 trees in March, 2024.

Operation Nest Box! Villagers & visitors alike, generously sponsored 30 nest boxes. Robert, Colin and Attlee put them in place. More than 50% were occupied by blue or great tits in 2024. (Click on the above images to view the gallery)
