Learn about nest boxes, seedbed preparation, wildflower planting and the wildlife survey carried out at Thornham Jubilee Meadow.

The Owl & Kestrel Box. We managed to find a second-hand telegraph pole which Adrian Siddle put up for us. Simon Dudhill of the Hawk & Owl put the boxes in place. We are very grateful to the 12 people who kindly sponsored the nest boxes.

In November 2023, Gemma Walker of NWT ran a Bio Blitz in the Hall and a team of expert volunteers carried out an audit of the wildlife present on the meadow, which has given an excellent baseline against which to measure future progress. Here, Sally Cotton and friends, examine the insect life.

The changing face of the Western Boundary. Over the past 18 months the brambles have been cleared and some of the weaker trees moved, to allow more space and light for the remaining trees to thrive.

Information Boards, expertly made by Fitzpatrick Woolmer, have been installed at either entrance to the field. There is even a QR code asking for donations!

The permissive path around the meadow, well tended by Spider Goddard, featuring a few of the twelve Memorial Benches, kindly sponsored by supporters of the Meadow Project.
